Currently based in London and Caracas, Jesús Briceño Reyes is an emerging Artist and Teacher from Caracas, Venezuela. 

Jesús has experienced how art-education can change the lives of many people living in vulnerable areas. Since 2005, he has engaged as a volunteer in different government and non-government institutions. He is Co-Founder of the organisation Haciendo Ciudad.

In 2008, Jesús became the youngest artist to be shortlisted for the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) awards in Long Beach, California. The artwork donated by him to the Museum set an auction record for the youngest artist in the sale that year.

In 2014, he was shortlisted for Bloomberg New Contemporaries at the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) , in London, UK.

 

Education

2014-2015: Goldsmiths, University of London – Graduated with Merits - MA Artist Teacher and Contemporary Practices.

2012-2014: University of the Arts London – MFA Fine Art, Wimbledon College of Art.

2015-2010 Universidad Nacional Experimental De Las Artes – Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts (Major in painting).
